Blood Donation Drive in Aytos on October 16th - Saving Lives

On October 16th of this year, Thursday, a blood donation campaign is being organized in Aytos, which calls on the residents of the municipality to participate in the noble cause of saving human lives. The event, organized by the Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment Aytos and the Transfusion Hematology Department of the University Hospital Burgas, will be held in front of the clinical laboratory of the local hospital. The blood donation hours are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The organizers appeal to all health-conscious citizens of the municipality who wish to help a stranger in need to take part in this initiative. The atmosphere in front of the clinical laboratory promises to be filled with a sense of solidarity and humanity, bringing together people with a common cause _q_ to help those in need.

A blood donor can be any healthy person who meets certain criteria. The age limit is between 18 and 65 years. It is important that blood donation is not performed on an empty stomach. It is recommended to ensure the intake of caloric foods and fluids before and after the procedure.

The blood donation procedure includes several stages. It starts with filling out a questionnaire, followed by a medical examination, a preliminary blood group test, and the blood collection itself. The whole procedure takes no more than 40 minutes. A large flow of volunteers is expected, but the employees are prepared to serve everyone quickly and efficiently.

After blood donation, the body begins a process of recovery. Quantitative blood recovery takes about one day, while qualitative recovery takes 3-4 weeks.

Blood donation is beneficial for health. It stimulates the process of blood cell renewal and strengthens the body's defenses. There are also additional benefits for volunteers. Blood donors are entitled to two days of paid leave, in accordance with Art. 157, para. 1, item 2 of the Labor Code. In addition, they receive a supportive breakfast and access to the results of the tests performed for AIDS, hepatitis B and C, syphilis, and blood group.
