A car belonging to the Burgas regional election commission crashed on the Trakia motorway near Sliven before noon today, commission chairman Georgi Mihov said. The car was heading to Sofia, where the team must hand over election papers to the Central Election Commission.

No one was hurt in the crash. Mihov said the car had light damage, and that it was only material.

The team switched to another car and carried on. They have now reached Sofia, and the papers from Burgas are on their way to the Central Election Commission, as planned.

Mihov said bad weather on the motorway caused the crash. Drivers on the Trakia motorway near Sliven today should expect poor weather on that stretch.
