According to official information from the British Met Office, cited by BBC News, the El Niño climate phenomenon currently forming over the Pacific Ocean has a significant probability of becoming the most powerful event of its kind in history. Experts define it as the largest since the 19th century.

The combination of El Niño, which triggers a temporary rise in global temperatures, and anthropogenic climate change creates conditions that, according to the media outlet, make it highly likely that 2027 will go down in the record books as the hottest year ever measured.

A report by the Press Association states that the phenomenon is expected to lead to a rise in sea temperatures of over 3 °C within a period described as an "unprecedented event" in the coming months. In addition, the British Met Office predicts that due to the influence of El Niño, the territory of Great Britain will be subjected to more frequent storms and intense rainfall during the upcoming autumn-winter season.
