Two Moldovan tourists have drowned in an unguarded beach area near Ahtopol. The tragic incident occurred this afternoon.
A group of four young people – two men and two women aged between 20 and 25 – decided to visit an unguarded beach zone. Three of them entered the rough sea. One of the young men managed to get back to shore, but the other two were swept away by the currents. The woman's body was the first to be recovered by rescuers.
Following an extensive search operation conducted throughout the afternoon, rescue teams located and brought the body of the second victim – one of the young men – to shore. This is the latest in a series of incidents along the Southern Black Sea coast in recent days, following the recent drowning of a 7-year-old child from Svishtov in the sea near Sozopol.
