Airline Jet2.com is undertaking a significant expansion of its flight schedule by increasing the number of flights to Burgas from four UK airports in May 2027. Burgas Airport clarified that this move is directly linked to the seaside city's upcoming hosting of the prestigious international music contest, Eurovision 2027.

Additional air connections will be provided from the airports in Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester, and East Midlands. According to information provided by Burgas Airport, Jet2's overall flight program for the next season includes a total of 11 routes, with tickets already available for sale. The goal of this expansion is to ensure more direct travel options for British guests visiting Burgas during the major music forum.

Improvements in air connectivity for Burgas in May 2027 are not limited to the British market. Here are the other key changes:

  • The seasonal direct line between Vienna and Burgas, operated by Austrian Airlines, will begin operations earlier than usual, with the debut flight for the season scheduled for May 8, 2027. Through Vienna Airport, travelers will be able to easily connect to a wide range of destinations in Europe and the rest of the world.
  • National carrier Bulgaria Air is also introducing additional arrival options during the period surrounding Eurovision 2027. Between May 2 and May 19, up to two flights per day will be operated on the domestic Sofia – Burgas route. Afternoon frequencies will be added to the standard evening times to assist passengers arriving at Sofia Airport on international flights.
