The Minister of Internal Affairs Daniel Mitov and leaders of the Bulgarian police visited the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) in the USA to familiarize themselves with the most modern techniques and technologies used in the investigation of drug-related crimes. The Bulgarian experts discussed opportunities for cooperation and training with their American colleagues.

The Bulgarian delegation, led by Minister Daniel Mitov, visited the Technical Investigations Office of the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) in the USA. Minister Mitov familiarized himself with the latest technical means that support the effective conduct of investigations and can also be used by the Bulgarian police.

Later, the heads of the main police directorates - National Police, Combating Organized Crime and Border Police - visited the DEA academy and training laboratory in Quantico, Virginia. They became acquainted with the training and practice conditions for DEA agents, and the possibilities for including Bulgarian police officers in the agency's training programs were discussed. In the laboratory, Chief Commissioner Boyan Raev demonstrated to the American experts some of the "technical means" for drug production, seized during operations of the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime.
