Austrian Spirit in Burgas: Focus Austria Program

The Burgas International Film Festival (BIFF) invites connoisseurs of European art to the special three-day "Focus Austria" program. The event will present a remarkable selection of films and musical performances.

"Focus Austria" is a bridge between cultures that combines the Austrian artistic perspective with the seaside atmosphere of Burgas.

Film Program with Jessica Hausner

The festival highlights the work of director Jessica Hausner:

  • July 21, 9:30 PM (NHK Cultural Center): Opening with the screening of "Amour Fou".
  • July 22, 9:30 PM (NHK Cultural Center): Screening of the film "Little Joe".
  • July 23, 9:30 PM ("The Snail" stage): Open-air screening of the hit production "Club Zero".

Live Music and Guests

On July 23 at 6:30 PM, the "Snail" stage in the Sea Garden will host a concert by Austrian virtuoso Jakob Steinkellner. He masterfully combines the traditional Styrian harmonica with contemporary musical elements.

The events will also be attended by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Austria in Bulgaria, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Radostina Ivanova-Mishineva. The program is implemented with the support of the Austrian Cultural Forum and the Municipality of Burgas.
