Winter is nearing its end, but in Burgas, they are anticipating another successful year. The region has proven to be in first place in the country in terms of the number of registered tourists. Over two million and one hundred thousand people visited the region last year. Behind these figures stand efforts, partnership, and a clear vision for the future.
Summit Meeting: Assessments and Perspectives
At a meeting at the Regional Administration Burgas, key figures from the local authorities and business representatives discussed what has been achieved and outlined development plans. At the center of attention were the outgoing Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh, the regional governor Vladimir Krumov, as well as the mayor of Burgas Dimitar Nikolov. They were joined by mayors of municipalities from the region, ready to share successes and seek new ways for growth.
Data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI) for 2025 show impressive results. What impresses is not only the number of tourists, but also their origin. A stable interest is noted from key markets such as Germany, Israel, and Turkey. Proof is also the fact that the tourist flow is not limited only to the summer months. This success is the result of the joint work between the Ministry of Tourism, local authorities, and business.
Extending the Season: a Common Cause
One of the main goals is the extension of the tourist season. In 2025, the Ministry of Tourism undertook a number of initiatives in this direction, working in close cooperation with the municipalities. The main idea is for the Southern Black Sea coast to become a destination that attracts tourists throughout the year. Offering not only a seaside vacation, but also a rich cultural calendar, sporting events, and festivals.
The initiative highlights the advantages of the region: the short distances between resorts and the variety of experiences. This strategy allows tourists to combine different types of vacation within one trip. For Miroslav Borshosh, it is the active cooperation with the local authorities that is key to success.
Unified Tourist Product: New Perspectives
Another important step was the creation of a unified tourist product for the Burgas region. The Regional Administration coordinates and supports the promotion of event calendars, festivals, and tourist routes. The goal is for the region to present itself as a single destination, which facilitates attracting tourists and increases their interest.
It is true that cultural events and festivals play a key role in attracting visitors outside the traditional summer season. Such events give an additional boost to the local business and tourism, Borshosh emphasized.
Recognition for Achievement
In recognition of the achieved results, Miroslav Borshosh presented a special plaque to the regional governor Vladimir Krumov. The award is for outstanding achievements of the Burgas Region in tourism. "The destination is a positive example of how partnership between the state, local authorities, and business can lead to success," the minister noted.
Vladimir Krumov stressed that the leadership of the Burgas region is a result of joint work and a clear vision. "Here we know how to work together, that is why we win the trust of tourists. The development of the Southern Black Sea coast as a year-round destination is an important priority that we must continue," he said.
The mayors and representatives of the municipalities in the region also expressed their gratitude to Miroslav Borshosh for the support and cooperation. They emphasized the importance of a common vision and consistent work for a sustainable and inspiring result.
