A woman from Shumen attacked a police officer during a family dispute.

On June 20, just before 11 pm, a signal for a family scandal on Hristo Genchev Street was received in Shumen. A team from the District Police Station in the city was sent to respond to the case. At the scene, the police found a man and a woman in an intoxicated state, who had argued. The officers separated them to clarify the situation. During the interrogation, the 40-year-old woman from the village of Veselinovo, who was visibly drunk, struck a police officer with her hand. She also scratched another policeman, after which she was detained at the police station in Shumen. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated against her for a crime under Article 131, paragraph 1, item 1 of the Penal Code.
