Police in Burgas found about 1 kg of marijuana and about 500 g of a white substance in a flat on San Stefano street in the city centre.

Burgas regional police (ODMVR) said officers from the Second District Police Department began the check at about 4pm on Thursday, 15 October.

The marijuana was dry green plant matter and flower heads. A field test of the white substance was positive for amphetamine.

A 36-year-old woman from Burgas, known to police for earlier offences, lives in the flat. She was arrested under a detention order for up to 24 hours.

Police have opened fast-track proceedings.
