A new operation to tow the motor ship Chelsea 3 has begun at sea off Lozenets, the Transport Ministry said. The ship's anchor has caught on the seabed and the vessel is stable. See our original report: Ship hit by drones near Byala to be inspected in Burgas.

Chelsea 2, a second ship owned by the same company, will also take part. Chelsea 3 is now 12.5 nautical miles south of Cape Maslen Nos and 10.7 nautical miles east of Lozenets.

The ship sails under the Maltese flag on the Giresun–Giurgiulești route. Drones hit it on 13 October, 17 nautical miles east of Byala. All 15 crew members were rescued, BGNES reported.

Yesterday, bad weather forced a temporary halt to efforts to secure and tow the ship. The tug Aliot reached Chelsea 3 at 12:45pm, but plans to put an emergency team on board were called off because of the serious risk to the crews.
