Third day in a row of rain, about 26 liters by afternoon
Wednesday in Burgas is wet from the morning. About 26 liters per square meter will fall by afternoon, and the chance of precipitation in the morning and at midday is 100 percent. It rained on Monday and Tuesday, so the ground is full of water and the new rain does not soak in but runs off along the streets.
Expect puddles at low-lying intersections, water in underpasses, and storm drains that can barely cope. Anyone who can postpone a car trip until the afternoon will have an easier time.
Morning at 11 degrees and humidity of 92 percent
At 8 a.m. it is 11 degrees and raining heavily. The sun rises at 06:45, but it will not show itself behind the thick clouds. Children heading to school and everyone leaving for work will catch the heaviest rain.
Around 2 p.m. it gets even cooler, about 10 degrees. The rain weakens but does not stop, and humidity stays at 92 percent. The highest temperature for the day is 14 degrees, but because of the wind and the moisture it will not feel above 11.
North wind with gusts up to 46 km/h
The wind blows from the north at about 26 km/h, and at times gusts reach 46. In the open, along the seafront promenade and on the bridge, the wind is felt most strongly and the rain falls at a slant. An umbrella easily turns inside out in such gusts, so a hood is safer.
The sun barely breaks through, and the ultraviolet index is 3, low, so you do not need sunscreen.
In the evening the rain stops, 10 degrees remain
By 8 p.m. it is already dry and cloudy, about 10 degrees, and humidity drops to 69 percent. The sun sets at 17:01 and you will get home in the dark, over wet sidewalks. The rain has washed the air, and the European air quality index is 15, that is, excellent.
Gardens are soaked, leaves fall faster
After three rainy days, yards, parks and flower beds have water for weeks ahead. There is no need to water either in the garden or on the balcony. Pour the excess water out of pots without holes in the bottom, otherwise the roots rot.
The north wind will strip a large part of the autumn leaves from the trees on the streets and in the Sea Garden. Wet leaves on the paths are slippery as ice, and when they clog the drain grates, the water flows back onto the street. If you sweep in front of your house or building, start with the grates.
The grass is waterlogged, so it is better not to walk on it or mow it: the roots tear and muddy patches remain. Planting bulbs and shrubs can also wait until the water drains away.
The night into Thursday is cold, down to 4 degrees. Bring geraniums, lemon trees and other potted plants that do not tolerate cold inside, or at least put them against the wall, sheltered from the north wind.
A hooded jacket and a bigger distance on the road
For Wednesday, wear a waterproof jacket with a hood, closed shoes that do not let water through, and a scarf for the wind. The child's raincoat should be longer than the jacket.
Leave running and walks by the sea for the evening, when the rain stops, or for Thursday morning. An indoor gym is the better choice today.
Drivers should go slower and keep a bigger distance. In heavy rain visibility is poor, headlights must be on during the day too, and wet leaves on the asphalt lengthen the braking distance. Also be careful with pedestrians who go around puddles on the roadway.
Tomorrow, Thursday, is mostly clear and dry, up to 11 degrees, with a north wind of about 16 km/h and gusts up to 29.
