Weather in Bulgaria: Cloudy with rain and snow

Over the next 24 hours, the weather in Bulgaria will be predominantly cloudy, with fog in the lowlands and valleys. After noon, rain will begin from the southwest, which will continue overnight into Thursday, announced the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology. The wind will be weak, and in many areas, it will subside, while in Northeast Bulgaria and the areas near the northern mountain slopes, a moderate wind from the south-southeast will blow. Minimum temperatures will be mostly between minus 8° and minus 3°, higher in Southern Bulgaria, and maximums between 4° and 9°, lower in areas with persistent fog. In Sofia, the minimum temperature will be around minus 1°, and the maximum will be around 3°. Atmospheric pressure is close to the monthly average. Over the next 24 hours, it will decrease significantly.  On the Black Sea coast, it will be mostly cloudy, but without precipitation. A moderate southeast wind will blow. Maximum temperatures will be 6°-8°. The sea water temperature is 5°-7°. The sea swell will be 2-3 Beaufort.

In the mountains, it will be mostly cloudy. After noon and in the evening, rain will begin from the southwest, and above 2000 meters - snow. A strong and gusty wind from the south-southwest will blow. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will be around 6°, at 2000 meters - around 2°.

On Thursday, it will be cloudy with rain, significant in the Rila-Rhodope region, in places in Eastern Bulgaria and the Central Pre-Balkan. In the Danube Plain, the precipitation will be light, and there are conditions for the formation of black ice. In the mountains above 1800 meters above sea level, it will snow. A moderate southeast wind will blow. Minimum temperatures will be between minus 5° and 0°, higher in the eastern and southwestern regions, and maximums between 7° and 12°, lower in Northwest Bulgaria, where it will be foggy. On Friday, the precipitation will temporarily stop, but later in the afternoon from the southwest, it will rain again, and the precipitation will quickly cover the country.
