Weather Tomorrow: Cold weather with snowfall on the Black Sea coast

Over the next 24 hours, cold air will continue to flow in from the northeast, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) announced.

Cloud cover will thicken, and tomorrow over most of the country, cloudy weather will prevail. Snowfall will mainly occur along the Southern Black Sea coast. Over the southern parts of the country, the cloud cover will temporarily break up and decrease. In the western regions, a light to moderate wind will blow from the east-northeast, and in the eastern regions – a moderate wind from the north-northeast, along the Black Sea coast and temporarily strong.

Minimum temperatures in most places will be between minus 11° and minus 6°, in the extreme southwestern and southeastern regions – up to minus 1°, for Sofia – around minus 7°. The maximums for Northern Bulgaria will be between minus 7° and minus 3°, for Southern Bulgaria – between minus 2° and 3°, for Sofia – around minus 1°. Atmospheric pressure is significantly higher than the monthly average and will not change significantly.  

Cloudy weather will prevail on the Black Sea coast. There will be snowfall along the Southern Black Sea coast. A moderate and temporarily strong northerly wind will blow. The maximum temperatures will be from minus 4°-minus 3° along the northern coast to minus 2°-0° along the Southern coast. The sea water temperature is 8°-10°. The sea swell will be 3-4 points.  

It will be cloudy over Stara Planina and the mountains of Eastern Bulgaria. Snowfall will occur in Strandzha and in some places on Stara Planina. Over the massifs of Southwestern Bulgaria and the Rhodopes, the cloud cover will be broken and decreasing during the day. A moderate and temporarily strong north-northeast wind will blow. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will be around minus 4°, at 2000 meters – around minus 10°.

It will also be quite cold on Monday; the minimum temperatures in most places will be between minus 12° and minus 7°, and the maximums - from minus 5° to 0°. The wind will be light to moderate, in the western half of the country from the east-northeast, in the eastern half - from the north-northeast. Over Northern Bulgaria, there will be significant cloud cover, in places the visibility will be reduced, with almost no precipitation. Over Southern Bulgaria, the cloud cover will be broken, in places it will be mostly sunny.

On Tuesday, the wind will weaken and change to south-southeast. Sunny weather will prevail, the daytime temperatures will slightly increase. Towards the evening, the cloud cover from the southwest will increase.
