Weather Today: Sunshine and Fog in Bulgaria

Today, despite the approaching autumn season, the synoptic situation will not undergo any serious changes, announced the Bulgarian National Radio. A predominantly sunny day is expected, promising brief moments of warmth before the onset of colder weather.

Particular attention should be paid to the conditions in the Danube Plain, where fog is expected, which will limit visibility and bring a feeling of colder weather. The same picture is predicted in the river valleys in Southern Bulgaria, where the fog will linger until noon. In these areas, the sun's rays will have difficulty breaking through the overhanging fog, reminiscent of the approaching darker autumn days. The weather will be almost calm, which predisposes to the retention of the fog.

In this regard, a yellow code for fog has been declared in eleven regions of Northern Bulgaria. This warning calls for increased attention from residents and drivers of motor vehicles, due to reduced visibility.

The minimum temperatures for the country will range between 0° and 5°, and the maximum - between 13° and 18°. It is important to note that in areas with persistent fog, the temperatures will be significantly lower, which emphasizes the local differences in the weather.

In the capital Sofia, the expected minimum temperature is around 0°, while the maximum will reach around 16°.

In the mountains today the weather will be different, offering sun and clear visibility, accompanied by a light north-westerly wind. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will be around 15°, and at 2000 meters – around 9°.

Along the Black Sea coast, mostly sunny weather is expected, although in the morning hours there may be fog in places that may spoil the initial idyll. The weather will be almost calm. The maximum temperatures along the coast will be between 14° and 17°. The sea water temperature will be between 16° and 17°, which suggests relatively comfortable conditions for the late summer months. The sea swell is expected to be 1 point.
