Over the past 24 hours, a total of 226 fires have been extinguished across the country, with one person reported injured in the incidents. This report was released by the General Directorate for Fire Safety and Population Protection (GDFSPP) of the Ministry of Interior, amidst ongoing efforts to contain large-scale blazes.

One of the critical locations is the area above the Sofia village of Anton, where specialized military equipment has been deployed to assist in extinguishing a fire in the Central Balkan National Park. The Ministry of Defense press office stated that a crew from the 24th Air Base in Krumovo was dispatched to the scene with an AS 532 AL Cougar helicopter.

The aircraft took off from the air base at 14:55 with the primary mission of conducting aerial firefighting. The flights of the military helicopter are intended to support the ground teams of the General Directorate for Fire Safety and Population Protection in their battle against the elements.
