The position of "Vazrazhdane" regarding social networks

The deputies from the "Vazrazhdane" party expressed principled support for GERB's idea to restrict the access of children under 16 to social networks, but questioned the quality of the proposed legislative texts.

"Currently, stillborn texts are being proposed that will not get the job done," stated Georgi Georgiev.

The main criticisms of the members of parliament include:

  • Lack of specificity regarding the mobile devices that will be affected.
  • Possibility of easily bypassing the ban due to vague wording.
  • Need for serious refinement of the bill before voting.

The problem with educational platforms

Angel Yanchev highlighted a deeper problem with educational platforms such as "Scratch". According to him, while GERB focuses on general bans, they fail to regulate content that imposes gender ideology on students at the primary education stage. "Vazrazhdane" will abstain from voting in the social committee until more well-thought-out measures are proposed.
