Burgas hospital UMBAL urges people with B- and 0- blood types to donate blood. Several patients at Burgas hospitals need blood from these rare types after an accident and the surgery that followed.
Blood donations are taken at the transfusion haematology department, behind the DKC I building, the former First Polyclinic. Donors are seen from 7:30am to 2pm, and anyone who meets the requirements can go from tomorrow morning.
Healthy people aged 18 to 65 who weigh more than 50kg can donate blood. They must not have taken any medicine in the last 48 hours. A doctor checks whether it is safe for them to donate.
Donating takes little time, and a single donation can help someone who needs treatment right now.
