Tragedy at Burgas Port: 40-Year-Old Man Drowns Under Unclear Circumstances

At approximately 6:40 AM on May 18, the First Regional Police Department in Burgas received a report of an incident near the Sea Station, close to the "Marina" Hotel. According to initial information, a 40-year-old resident of Burgas drowned in the sea.

During an inspection of the scene, next to the pier stairs leading into the water, police found the man’s personal belongings — a fishing bag, rod, reel, hooks, and other equipment.
Upon examining the victim’s clothing, officers discovered and seized a packet containing a green herbal substance. Its exact composition is currently being analyzed.
Authorities have initiated a pre-trial investigation to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
