Grim statistics: Casualties and injuries on Bulgaria's roads
Another 24 hours of serious incidents on the national road network. According to official information from the Ministry of Interior, 25 serious traffic accidents have been registered in the past 24 hours, in which one person lost their life and 27 were injured.
In the capital Sofia alone, there were 2 serious and 30 minor accidents, resulting in two people injured.
Current data for the month and the year
- Since the beginning of the month: 501 accidents, 36 deaths and 603 injured.
- Since the beginning of the year: A total of 2213 serious accidents with 161 fatalities and 2743 injured.
Alarming rise in road trauma
The statistics show a negative trend compared to the previous year. For the same period in 2025, 141 deaths were recorded, which means that the number of road fatalities in the current year is 20 people higher.
Traffic Police reminds drivers to follow traffic rules, to be careful when operating their vehicles, and to adjust their speed to road conditions.
