Severe traffic accident on Hemus Motorway near Sofia
A tragic accident shook Sofia last night. A 73-year-old passenger died following a collision between a bus and a heavy goods vehicle on the Hemus Motorway, the Ministry of Interior reported. The report of the crash was received at approximately 01:12 AM.
The crash occurred when the bus attempted to overtake a semi-truck, leading to an impact.
Casualties and condition of the injured
A total of five people were transported to the Pirogov emergency hospital. Among the injured is a 3-year-old child. Following thorough medical examinations and tests:
- Four of the patients have been discharged for home treatment.
- A 23-year-old woman remains under medical observation in the Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic.
- Another woman, aged 69, is in critical condition and has been admitted to the intensive care unit.
At this time, the causes of the serious accident are being clarified. Traffic in the area was disrupted during the investigation.

Абе хора, писна ми с тия катастрофи… Сериозно. Всеки ден нещо пада, удря се, врязва се... И на Хемус, между другото - магистрала, дето я правихме с пари от Европа и пак не е както трябва.

Наистина тежка новина... Много е тъжно да чета подобни заглавия. Не знам, как може да се стигне до такъв сблъсък, особено на магистрала като "Хемус", която би трябвало да е една от най-добрите ни. Дали наистина спазват правилата движението тези шофьори, и двамата? Има ли достатъчно контрол по пътищата, или просто чакаме някой друг човек да загуби живота си, за да вземат мерки?
