Severe accident on the Burgas – Sredets road

A serious traffic accident involving casualties was recorded on July 29 on the road between Burgas and Sredets. As a result of a head-on collision, a 72-year-old woman has been admitted to the intensive care unit and is in life-threatening condition.

The incident occurred due to an illegal overtaking maneuver performed where road markings prohibit it.

Details of the accident

According to information from the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Burgas, the car driven by the woman entered the oncoming lane. There, it collided head-on with a truck with Burgas registration, driven by a 51-year-old man.

  • Condition: The patient is in critical condition under medical supervision.
  • Damage: Both vehicles veered off the roadway after the collision.

Police and ambulance teams arrived at the scene and transported the injured to a hospital in Burgas. Work continues to clarify all the circumstances surrounding the incident.
