Stiliyan Petrov Announces 'Match of Hope' in Burgas in 2026: The Charity Football Spectacle Returns

Following the emotional spectacle in front of 25,000 people in Sofia, the long-time national team captain Stiliyan Petrov officially announced the return of the charity "Match of Hope". The news was announced at a press conference in Burgas, where it became clear that the next big step in the fight against oncological diseases will be made at the Lazur stadium on June 6, 2026.

The event, organized by the Stiliyan Petrov Foundation, will bring together world football stars, Bulgarian legends, champions from the leading European championships, as well as popular figures from cultural life. The former national team captain once again unites his teammates and friends in the name of a cause that gives courage and hope.

The Mayor of Burgas Municipality Dimitar Nikolov, who firmly stands behind the cause, was present at the briefing. Next to Stan at the briefing were iconic figures for Bulgarian football such as Dimitar Dimitrov – Hero and Stoyko Sakaliev, with whom he worked in the national team.

A cause with a real imprint:

The funds raised from the match will be divided and donated for:

• Supporting the "Comprehensive Oncology Center" Burgas;
• Financial and moral support to Lyuboslav Penev and Petar Hubchev, who are fighting cancer;
• Direct support for patients who are fighting the insidious disease themselves;

We remind you that during the "Match of Hope" in Sofia, nearly half a million euros were collected, which are already supporting dozens of clinics and hundreds of patients throughout the country.
