Petar Stoyanov Palikov, known as Peshi, has not been in touch with his family for about 24 hours. He was last seen in Plovdiv, said a relative who posted an appeal on social media.

The family says his phone, documents and money were stolen. No details have been publicly confirmed about how the theft happened or whether it was reported separately. The author of the appeal also said police are looking for Palikov.

He should already have been on his way home to the Black Sea coast. His relatives cannot reach him and are trying to retrace his movements over the past day.

The last trace is an Instagram video posted by a random person on Tuesday, 3 November. At about 5pm in central Plovdiv, it shows a man believed to be Palikov. His family say he looks clearly upset and angry, and he has no luggage at all. The author of the appeal thinks something else may have happened to him.

Relatives ask anyone who has seen him in Plovdiv, Sofia or elsewhere in recent days to get in touch. Small details matter too: the time, the place and the direction he was heading.

People came forward after the appeal was posted. One woman saw an Instagram video of a man who looks like Peshi. He talks to strangers who film him and walk past, and says he is from Sofia and hates this country. She is not sure it is him, but says the hairstyle is similar. She did not know at the time that the man was missing.

Another man saw him in a grocery shop in Plovdiv on Tuesday, between about 6:30pm and 7pm. A social media user thinks they may have met him in Sofia the day before. None of the reports has been independently confirmed.
