The Burgas Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment of Pneumo-Phthisiological Diseases (SBALPPFZ) will organize an Open Doors Week and tuberculosis examinations from June 16 to 20, 2025. The campaign is aimed at early detection of the disease and is part of the implementation of the National Program for Tuberculosis Prevention and Control.
The incidence of tuberculosis in the country for 2024 is 13.7 per 100,000 people, with 913 registered patients. In comparison, in 2014 their number was 1872, with more men than women. The elimination of the tuberculosis epidemic by 2030 is among the UN's health goals for sustainable development.

During the Open Doors Week at SBALPPFZ Burgas, the following will be carried out: 1) tuberculosis risk screening through a questionnaire; 2) consultations; 3) examinations and additional tests for individuals with suspected tuberculosis. Timely detection and correct diagnosis are among the main challenges facing the health sector.
