Yambol District Court has ordered a civil registry officer at Yambol municipality to be held in custody. The court backed a request from the district prosecutor's office in the town.

Prosecutors charge the woman with forging documents while working as an official, and say she did so repeatedly. The documents are marriage records and marriage certificates.

The case covers three separate marriages between three Turkish citizens and three Bulgarian women. Prosecutors say the accused signed the marriage records in the names of the Turkish citizens, then issued the certificates based on them.

According to the charges, the documents were drawn up on 5 October 2026 in the municipality building.

The ruling is not final and can be appealed to Yambol Regional Court.
