Shock at Kapitan Andreevo: Confiscation of over 188 kg of uncontrolled eggs and chicken meat!

During a large-scale inspection at the border crossing point Kapitan Andreevo, officials from the "Border Control" Directorate of the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) uncovered an attempt to import uncontrolled food products.

Discovery of Illegal Import

In a joint operation with officials from the "Customs" Agency, during the passage of a light vehicle with Bulgarian registration entering from Turkey, significant quantities of food products without the necessary documentation were discovered:

• Eggs: 108 kg in egg cartons;
• Chicken meat: 80.8 kg without the corresponding certificates.

This discovery emphasizes the importance of strict border controls to prevent risks to public health.

All discovered goods were confiscated by the authorities and, according to procedures, will be subject to destruction to ensure the safety of the food chain in Bulgaria.
