The specialized operation of the "Cultural Heritage Trafficking" department of the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime was carried out on the territory of four eastern Bulgarian cities - Varna, Dobrich, Yambol, and Burgas. During the investigation, 11 addresses were searched, from which over 350 objects with signs of ancient and medieval cultural and historical values were confiscated. Among the seized artifacts are about 150 ancient coins and archaeological finds, as well as medieval weapons. 17 metal detectors, a significant amount of money in leva and euros, mobile phones, and ammunition for firearms were also seized.

A pre-trial investigation has been initiated, which continues under the leadership and supervision of the Varna District Prosecutor's Office. The seven detained persons are suspected of organizing the trafficking of cultural and historical values.
