More people need to speak out about public procurement, prime minister Rumen Radev says. He was talking to reporters after voting in the elections, where he commented on the arrest of Dimitar Gavazov and Radoslav Revanski, the mayors of Sungurlare and Belitsa.
On 24 October the Burgas District Court kept both mayors in custody.

"I call for more courage and for even more people to start talking," Radev said. He said the case is not just about "one or two" people in custody, because investigators are questioning many people linked to these contracts.
Radev said some political leaders are worried that more and more people will tell what happened and how money was stolen. This time, he expects objectivity from the police and investigators and, above all, from prosecutors and the courts.
"It is already clear, and you can feel it, that the underworld and the oligarchy are losing control over public procurement and the money flows in the state," Radev said.
The prime minister does not rule out more killings like those of Iliyan Filipov and Slavi Binev. He said that when resources shrink, the fight over them gets fiercer.
