Radev vs. the Oligarchy: Myth or Reality?

During the first 100 days of the caretaker cabinet, "We Continue the Change" (PP) directed sharp criticism at President Rumen Radev. According to the party, the pledge to "eliminate the oligarchy" has transformed into a return of the old political model through the appointment of iconic figures.

"The same personnel, the same dependencies, and the same careerists have lined up again in ministries, agencies, and state-owned companies – only this time under a new flag," the PP stated.

Key sectors and appointments:

• Healthcare: Ivanka Dineva returned to the "Medical Supervision" agency, and Petko Salchev (a GERB nominee) was appointed as Deputy Minister.
• Energy: Kiril Temelkov holds a deputy ministerial position, and on the board of NPP Kozloduy, expert Prof. Georgi Kaschiev was replaced by Dragomir Dimitrov – a former intelligence chief with a background in the State Security (DS).
• Agriculture and Transport: Plamen Abrovski (ITN) became a minister, while Iva Miteva and Zlatomira Mostrova were positioned within transport management structures.
• State-owned companies: Individuals linked to GERB and previous administrations have entered "Avtomagistrali" and the "Water and Sewerage (ViK) Holding," some of whom have a heavy legacy of financial losses.

Security services and political continuity

PP also highlights the selection of Plamen Tonchev as head of the State Agency for National Security (DANS), which was supported by GERB-UDF and DPS. The criticism also extends to personnel in culture, foreign policy, and regional development, which, according to the party, prove that the status quo has entrenched itself more firmly than ever.
