Firefighters in Bulgaria battled 154 fires over the past 24 hours, the General Directorate "Fire Safety and Civil Protection" at the Interior Ministry reported. The data is current as of 6:00 a.m. this morning, with one person injured in the incidents.

Crews responded to 189 calls in total.

Thirty of the fires caused damage. Eleven broke out in residential buildings, six in auxiliary, temporary or makeshift structures, and the same number of cars caught fire on the roads. There was one fire each in a forest area and on agricultural land.

The remaining 124 fires caused no damage. Most — 77 — started in dry grass, forest litter and shrubs. Waste caught fire 36 times, and stubble fields four times.

Firefighters also responded to 29 rescue and support operations. One was at a traffic accident, while in the other 27 cases they provided technical assistance to institutions and people in various situations.

The General Directorate also reported six false alarms.
