The police apprehended a man with a criminal record after a chase and shootout in the Pazardzhik region.

On May 13, 2025, around midnight, a police patrol signaled a passenger car to stop, but the driver did not comply. A chase ensued, which lasted for several hours. The driver performed risky maneuvers, and the police officers opened warning and then aimed fire at the car. Finally, the man abandoned the vehicle and hid in the forest, but a few hours later he was apprehended near a train station in the village of Sinitovo. It has been established that the 31-year-old man from the village of Debrshtitsa has a criminal record and has been convicted. The vehicle he was driving had stolen license plates. The man was wounded by a bullet that passed through the car and was hospitalized. An investigation has been initiated under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Pazardzhik. The police had received a signal about a suspicious SUV a few days earlier, when the driver of the same vehicle had already managed to escape a check. In the chase last night, teams from the regional police departments in Pazardzhik, Peshtera, and the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior participated. The man even tried to push a police vehicle off the road. The search for the fugitive after he abandoned the car near the village of Isperihovo was intensive - with the participation of security, traffic, and criminal police officers, a tracking dog, and a drone.
