The police prevented an attempted robbery of a minor in the Sofia metro.

On June 16, around 17:30, a 51-year-old woman reported to the Seventh Police Department of the Sofia Metropolitan Police that on the same day around noon, her 15-year-old son was threatened in the metro by unknown young man and woman who tried to take his sneakers and t-shirt worth over 500 leva. The boy managed to send a signal through the emergency button to the driver of the train, who notified the police.

Police officers from the "Metropolitan" sector of the Sofia Metropolitan Police responded to the signal and met the boy at the "Mladost 1" metro station. The injured minor pointed out his attackers, also minors - a 17-year-old young man and a 14-year-old girl, both known to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In this case, a decree has been issued under Article 198, paragraph 1 of the Penal Code for the 17-year-old young man, who has been detained with a measure of detention for up to 24 hours, and after a report to the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office, the measure has been extended to 48 hours. Proceedings have been initiated for the act of the 14-year-old girl under the same article of the Penal Code. Witness statements have been taken from the 15-year-old, his mother, and the train driver.
