Employees of the Economic Police at the SDVR uncovered an illegal tobacco production facility in a house in a forested area near the capital. Over 200 kilograms of tobacco were seized, and three people were detained for up to 24 hours.

At the beginning of the week, the police received a signal about a property where tobacco is being illegally processed. The investigation found a house in the vicinity of Sofia, equipped with facilities for processing and cutting tobacco. On site, the employees found and seized over 40 kilograms of ready-to-use products, as well as about 200 kilograms of tobacco prepared for processing, intended for distribution in the country.

A 28-year-old woman and two men aged 30 and 51 were detained for up to 24 hours, with the older of them having been previously convicted of similar crimes. A report will be submitted to the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office with the materials on the case.
