"We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria" calls for a commemoration of the victims of the communist regime and the condemnation of the executioners. The declaration, read from the parliamentary rostrum, emphasizes that this duty requires a daily battle with the banality of evil.
On the occasion of the 81st anniversary of February 1, 1945, when the so-called People's Court sentenced a number of prominent figures to death, DSB chairman Atanas Atanasov emphasizes the scale of the evil on which the communist criminal regime was built. He recalls the executions carried out and quotes words of Tsola Dragoycheva, which testify to the cruelty of the regime.
Atanasov points out that after 1944 Bulgaria was occupied by the Red Army, a puppet government was created, which violated the Tarnovo Constitution through the creation of the People's Court. He highlights the horrifying statistics: 135 trials, over 28,000 arrested, and over 2,700 death sentences.
The declaration emphasizes the fact that the red executioners left this world without repentance, and their heirs did not condemn the bloody barbarity. Atanasov recalls monuments to executioners and the Soviet occupier, calling for more days of tribute to the victims.
