The government is launching preparations for the presidential vote
The Council of Ministers has officially adopted a decision on the preparation and holding of the elections for President and Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria, scheduled for October 25, 2026.
The decision allocates responsibilities among the relevant ministries to ensure the transparency and legality of the electoral process.
Key departmental responsibilities:
- Ministry of Innovation and Digital Transformation: Coordinates technical preparations, including video surveillance and the delivery of election materials.
- Ministry of Interior: Organizes activities for maintaining public order.
- Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works: Responsible for the preparation and publication of electoral rolls.
- Ministry of Finance: Prepares the tariffs for media coverage of political parties on BNT and BNR.
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Organizes the vote outside the country.
- Ministry of Justice: Oversees the electoral process in places of deprivation of liberty.
