As part of a series of targeted police actions carried out in recent days in Plovdiv, employees of the "Criminal Police" department have thwarted attempts to distribute high-risk narcotics. During the special operations carried out in various areas of the city, nearly half a kilogram of marijuana, a small amount of methamphetamine, and about 29 grams of fentanyl, packaged in about 290 small bags, were seized.
Among the detainees are a 40-year-old man from Dimitrovgrad with a criminal record, as well as four local residents from the "Stolipinovo" district. They have all been charged with crimes under Article 354a, paragraph 1 of the Penal Code, related to the illegal distribution of drugs. Their detention period has been extended to 72 hours, after rulings by the District Prosecutor's Office in Plovdiv, which is supervising the investigation.

During the searches in the car of the man from Dimitrovgrad and at the addresses inhabited by the detainees, in addition to the narcotic substances, various tools used for packaging and distributing the drugs, including electronic scales, were also seized. It was further established that the 40-year-old man had driven the car under the influence of cocaine.
