Plovdiv police stop illegal trade in counterfeit goods and tobacco products

Another operation against crimes that harm the state budget and intellectual property was carried out this week by employees of the "Economic Police" department of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior - Plovdiv under the supervision of the prosecution. During the search of a storage facility in the "Kamenitsa" district, managed by a 48-year-old man, numerous counterfeit clothes, shoes and bags marked with trademarks protected by law were found, acquired and stored without the necessary permits. Additionally, 92 boxes of hookah tobacco without excise stamps were confiscated. A pre-trial investigation has been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and its documentation continues under the guidance of a supervising prosecutor from the District Prosecutor's Office - Plovdiv.
