Plamen Paskov is running for president in the October 25 election, put forward by an initiative committee. His running mate is Svetozar Saev.

Paskov works as a vet. He has taken part in past elections as a civic-quota candidate, backed by various political parties, but he has never belonged to one himself, the initiative committee said.

He was born on September 12, 1965 in Dimitrovgrad. In 1983 he graduated with honors from the "Ivan Vazov" science high school in his hometown, then studied veterinary medicine from 1985 to 1990 at the Higher Institute of Zootechnics and Veterinary Medicine — now Trakia University.

Besides Bulgarian, he speaks Russian, English and French.
