Dangerous situation on the road in Burgas
Another case of irresponsible behavior on the road has shaken Burgas. Vigilant citizens managed to stop a driver who was operating his vehicle while visibly intoxicated.
The incident occurred on Friday afternoon on the busy "Prof. Yakim Yakimov" boulevard in the seaside city.
According to testimonies, the driver entered the oncoming traffic lane while traveling towards the entrance of Burgas from the Trakia motorway, which endangered the lives of dozens of other road users.
The response of the law enforcement authorities
- The breathalyzer test showed 3.16 per mille of alcohol, which is an extremely high reading.
- The 48-year-old Burgas resident has been detained by police teams for a period of up to 24 hours.
- A fast-track proceeding has already been initiated in the case.
