The Road Incident
As part of a specialized police operation for freight traffic control, officers from the Chepelare Police Department stopped a truck with Romanian registration for an inspection. The vehicle had demonstrated risky behavior on the road.
The breathalyzer test established that the 52-year-old driver was behind the wheel with a blood alcohol concentration of 1.31 per mille.
Attempted Bribery
Upon realizing he would be sanctioned, the driver attempted to evade responsibility by throwing a 50-euro banknote into the official police vehicle.
- Two fast-track proceedings have been initiated;
- One is for driving under the influence of alcohol;
- The second is for offering a bribe to a public official.
