The funeral of Mihaela Yorgova, 30, from the Dolno Ezerovo district of Burgas, will be held on Thursday, 15 October, at St Athanasius church in the Izgrev district of Burgas, her relatives said.

She died in a head-on crash on Saturday, 10 October 2026, at about 3:45pm on the road from Karnobat through Aytos to Burgas, at km 478.700. The crash happened on a straight stretch near the village of Sadievo, between Burgas and Aytos.

The car of Hristo Zhelezov, 43, from Aytos, crossed into the oncoming lane and hit the woman's car head-on, according to Burgas regional police (ODMVR). Both drivers died at the scene. Both cars are Volkswagen Golfs with Burgas registration.

Pre-trial proceedings have begun in the case. Police are still working out why the car moved into the oncoming lane, and no final expert findings have been made public.

After the funeral service, she will be buried in Dolno Ezerovo, the district where she was born.
