The New Year 2026 Brings Challenges and Opportunities for Bulgaria, According to BCCI

The new year 2026 will add new challenges to Bulgaria's development, but also new opportunities for everyone, says the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Tsvetan Simeonov, in a New Year's address.

After joining Schengen, we have entered new dimensions of our integration into the EU - free movement and residence. We have already traveled the difficult path towards the accession of our country to the second most important world currency - the euro. And even the biggest pessimists already know the benefits and opportunities of using this currency.

But they will become a reality and will work most effectively for those who take into account the challenges of today's realities, such as reducing carbon emissions and their impact on the climate, reducing the consequences of increasingly frequent natural disasters, investing in innovation, developing new products and services, persistently seeking new partners and markets.

These achievements should not weaken our attention to maintaining low taxes in Bulgaria, especially with regard to corporate tax, personal income tax, the low redistributive role of the state and its debt. They will continue to be a pledge for the attractiveness of our country as a place for investment.

As the authors of the publication Bulgaria in figures® (Bulgaria in figures), which has gained popularity among economists, analysts and investors, we expect to see a more careful review by state institutions of the critical positions of Bulgaria in nearly 30 international rankings, diligently reflected in it. They can become a clear action program to improve the image of our country and, of course, increase its attractiveness.
