Tsarevo is to get a new school building, mayor Marin Kirov has said. He signed an agreement to fund the design work, with backing from the regional development ministry.

The building will house pupils in grades 1 to 7. The town wants all children to study in one shift all year round.

"The new building will have a heated indoor swimming pool and new, modern spaces," Kirov said. He said the town is grateful that the state backs the project and sees it as important.

A technical design still has to be drawn up. "Once we have the technical design, we will also apply for funding for the actual construction," the mayor said.
