Turnout in Sungurlare municipality was 10.74% at 4pm on Sunday, according to official figures. The vote comes after the arrest of mayor Dimitar Gavazov.

So far 1,085 of the municipality's 10,107 eligible voters have cast a ballot.

Locals have reacted in different ways to the arrest. Some said they would not vote, while others went to the polls.

All polling stations opened on time. Their election commissions are fully staffed, with no members missing.

The town of Sungurlare has four polling stations.
