Underage individuals detained for coercing a girl into prostitution

A specialized police operation conducted on May 14 by the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (GDBOP) has uncovered criminal activity of a group of minors who have been coercing a minor girl into prostitution for their own financial gain. The investigation, led by the Investigation Department of the Sofia District Prosecutor's Office, has established that during the period from the end of October 2024 to April 2025, the three youths aged between 15 and 17 years old have been forcing the girl to provide sexual services to an indefinite number of men in exchange for payment, with the perpetrators receiving 60% of the amount. During the specialized operation, three youths were detained - one of them was placed under a measure of "detention for a period of 48 hours," while two were placed under a measure of "supervision of an inspector from the children's pedagogical room." They have been charged with crimes under the Criminal Code related to coercing a minor into prostitution. Searches and seizures were carried out at eight addresses, as well as four personal searches. Five individuals were questioned as witnesses, one of whom was interviewed before a judge from the Sofia District Court. The investigation of the case is ongoing.
