Assoc. Prof. Petko Stefanovski, the manager of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF), has ordered all regional health insurance funds (RHIF) to inform again the NHIF's contractual partners about the upcoming introduction of real-time control when prescribing and dispensing medicinal products, medical devices and dietary foods for special medical purposes, paid by the NHIF. The control will come into force on June 1, 2025.
In his order, Assoc. Prof. Stefanovski instructs the directors of the RHIF to inform the regional media as well, so that the information reaches all citizens in the country. The NHIF manager calls on the contractual partners to notify all interested parties in an appropriate manner, so that the pharmacy and medical software can be adapted to the new electronic process for real-time control. The goal is to avoid tension and disruption of patients' access to therapy with medicinal products, medical devices and foods for special medical purposes, paid by the NHIF.
