The eZdrave mobile app now gives more than 750,000 people access to their health records, says Informatsionno Obsluzhvane AD, the company that runs it. Of those, 485,000 are active users, while the rest are profiles for children under 18, linked to their parents' accounts. The app was built by the company, which sits under the ministry of innovation and digital transformation, and pulls data from the National Health Information System.
User numbers have grown by 50% over the past six months. The company says people trust e-health services more now and use the health information system more often. Its data shows more people are checking their own records directly, going straight to details of the care they received.
The app shows checkups, e-prescriptions, referrals, lab tests, vaccinations and other health data. Women aged 31 to 50 use it the most.
Users can activate their profile with a qualified or cloud-based electronic signature, or in person — at Informatsionno Obsluzhvane offices, regional health inspectorates, or district health insurance fund branches.
In August, the app added a feature to report unauthorized activity. Since then, people have sent 1,760 reports of suspected violations, most about medical facilities in Sofia, Varna, Plovdiv and Burgas. Most complaints concern checkups, referral results and hospital stays.
Inspectors at the National Health Insurance Fund have opened 560 checks based on these reports.
This month a new "dental treatment" module is set to launch. It will show dental checkups, procedures carried out, and the state of a patient's teeth.
