Nurses and young doctors are organizing a protest to demand higher salaries and improved working conditions in the healthcare sector. They want the starting salary to be increased to 3100 levs, which is over 3.5 times the minimum wage in the country.

Medical professionals, including students, doctors, nurses, lab technicians, and rehabilitation workers, will gather for a protest under the slogan "Future for Bulgaria". They demand decent remuneration and adequate working conditions, as the average salary of a young doctor and nurse is below 2000 levs. The protests are scheduled for 6 pm in Sofia in front of the Ministry of Health, and in Varna, Pleven, Burgas, Plovdiv, and Stara Zagora - in front of the municipality.

A few days ago, the Trade Union of Bulgarian Medical Specialists demanded a 150% increase in salaries from the average wage and decent working conditions, otherwise they are ready to take strike action. The trade unions from CITUB and CL "Podkrepa" also threatened with protests if the Health Minister does not convene the sectoral council within the first 10 days of June to start negotiations on the new Collective Labor Agreement.

This will be another protest in the sector. Two weeks ago, on the professional holiday of nurses, a protest was organized in front of the Ministry of Health by the Trade Union of Bulgarian Medical Specialists.
