The Minister of Health visits new medical facilities in the Smolyan region

The Minister of Health Assoc. Prof. Dr. Silvi Kirillov, MD visited the new Emergency Medical Assistance Branch in the village of Banite - Oryahovets and the Specialized Hospital for Rehabilitation in Banite. The meetings were part of the Minister's commitment to dialogue with medical teams in the field and to identify needs related to working conditions, equipment and opportunities for professional development.

The Minister of Health, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sylvi Kirillov, PhD, visited the newly opened Emergency Medical Assistance Branch (EMAB) in the village of Banite - Oryahovets, built under the project of the Operational Program "Regions in Growth" 2014-2020. On site, he spoke with the emergency teams, and one of the topics discussed was the possibility of using telemedicine to support and consult young specialists practicing in remote areas.

After visiting the EMAB-Banite, Minister Kirillov also familiarized himself with the conditions offered by the Specialized Hospital for Rehabilitation (SHR), Banite branch. He met with the director of the medical facility, Dr. Alexei Karov, and the medical professionals. "All of you, as well as your colleagues from the emergency assistance branch, are proof that even in the more remote regions of the country, quality medical care can be provided," said Minister Kirillov.

The Minister emphasized that he is satisfied with the meeting with motivated and dedicated professionals who, with effort and commitment, contribute to the better health of the people in the region. He stated that the Ministry of Health will continue to work to improve access to health services in remote and hard-to-reach areas, which is one of the priorities of the Project "Encouraging specialization in specialties and areas with a shortage of specialists".

The working visit to the Smolyan region is part of the Minister's commitment to dialogue with medical teams on the ground and to identify specific needs related to working conditions, equipment, and opportunities for professional development.
